"The winner of the game is the player who makes the next-to-last mistake"
“Many have become chess masters; no one has become the master of chess.”
Chess should be fun. Choosing a chess coach for your school, private lessons or as an adult player looking to improve is not easy as there are so many different choices available. Having been on the journey as a player and a coach, I understand the importance of finding the right support.
I work with each student individually to put together a specific training plan for their improvement in all aspects of the game. I gave up chess for 12 years, due to the demands of my career, but my love for the game was rekindled when I picked up a chess book at a shop and started to play again. I had to reteach myself the basics - eventually making progress from 140 to 212 ECF.
This experience as an adult player meant I looked at chess from new perspectives, focusing less on sharp opening play but concentrating on positional play and developing a love for the endgame and simpler positions. I am able to use my vast playing and coaching experience to work with beginners looking to learn the game, all the way through to adults and master players looking to work on aspects of their play.
